Chaos Log Entry 5 - Cockpit Checklists

Immersion is in the Detail
For the Squawk Series, the goal has always been simple: create a deep sense of realism. That realism doesn't begin with the takeoff; it begins in the cockpit, before the engine spools up.
This week, my focus has been entirely on the interactive Cockpit Checklists. I am committed to making these procedures—from pre-flight preparation right through to engine shutdown at parking—as realistic and in-depth as the flight simulator will possibly allow me. This is about deep interactivity; it's about making the pilot (and the player) fully engage with the details of the Baron G58, not just fly it.

The Debugging Battlefield
While the intent is clear, the execution is proving, of course, to be complicated. Trying to script these comprehensive checks using the MSFS SDK is incredibly prone to errors. I am dealing with complex conditional triggers and state management that must be absolutely flawless, or a particular brown substance hits the fan.
The hard truth of this kind of development is that debugging errors often takes far longer than actually writing the initial code. But from personal experience, I know that the more difficult the task, the more satisfying the achievement.

Perseverance is the Only Checklist
Despite the friction and the slow pace that comes with constant error-checking, my commitment remains absolute.
I am devoted to creating the best possible interactive content before and during the flight. I will keep persevering until I nail every single procedure, every single switch throw, and every single checklist item. Perfection is the only standard for bringing this kind of reality to life.
